Wurzburg, Germany

This was the view from our room this morning.  Camping, German style!

The Main River is so beautiful and very different from the Danube River.  It's very still, peaceful, and serene!
We visited Wurzburg this morning, and since it was Sunday, all businesses were closed.  Wurzburg is surrounded by hillside vineyards and has an imposing fortress sitting above the town.  Most of Wurzburg was destroyed during the Allied air attacks in 1945.  But the city has risen from the ashes and restored many architectural treasures.

Our morning started with a tour of the former Price-Bishop's Palace completed in 1744.  Photography was not allowed inside, so all I have are pictures of the outside grounds.   The Palace was quite ornate with lots of gold, and is known for its lavish entrance staircase and having the largest ceiling fresco ever painted.

(Getting better with the selfie stick!  LOL)

Since I haven't been feeling well, I took advantage of the free afternoon and slept for several hours.
